Your header is the first visual impression that sets the tone for your entire site. From the image and color overlay to the headline and subheading text, your header communicates who you are as a clinic, even before a patient reads a single word.
This guide will show you how to update your header image (globally and locally), edit the heading and sub-heading text, and make visual design changes to your header.
How to Edit Your Header (Globally)
The first way of editing your header is to update all page headers at once using the Header settings in the Design tab.
- In the top right corner of your website, click on Admin > Design.
- Click Header in the left-hand menu.
- From here, you can adjust:
Layout: This setting allows you to choose the overall look and structure of your headers.
Breadcrumbs: Toggling this setting off removes small navigation menus that appear on your headers.
Settings: These settings allow you to change the text color and color overlay on your headers, as well as the height of your header. - Click Save Header to save your progress.
How to Edit Your Header (Locally)
The second way of editing your header is to override your global header settings for a single page.
- Navigate to the page with the header you want to customize.
- In the bottom right corner of the header, click Customize Header.
- From here, you can adjust:
Images: Uploading an image in this section will make your header image no longer rotate through your default photo folder.
Override Heading: These will override your default header text settings. This heading is also called your H1 heading and is an important part of your website's Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Override Sub-heading: These will override your default sub-heading text settings. This sub-heading is also called your H2 heading.
Button 1 and Button 2: These settings allow you to change the text, link, and color of your button(s).
Settings: These settings allow you to override the default colour, height, opacity, and alignment settings of your header. - Click Save Custom Header to save your progress.
You're all set! Now that you know how to edit both global and individual headers, your clinic has full control over how each page looks and feels. Whether you're keeping things consistent across your site or creating standout pages with custom header changes, your headers now reflect your clinic’s style and purpose.
