Updated September 25th, 2025

You've added your content, styled your pages, and now you're almost ready to launch your Clinic Sites website. We know that going live can feel overwhelming, especially if there are a few things that feel unfinished. This guide walks you through best practices to prepare for launch, including what you can still update later and why launching sooner can help your visibility online.

Launching early is perfectly okay. Google takes a minimum of three weeks to start indexing and ranking a new site, so the sooner you launch, the sooner you'll start showing up in search results.

Before you start

You'll need to have Admin access to your Clinic Sites website to make any of these changes. You'll also need a registered Domain and access to your DNS settings.

Unpublish Incomplete Content

You don't need to wait for every testimonial, photo, or service blurb to be perfect. You can hide unfinished sections so they don’t hold up your launch. This is important because launching sooner helps search engines start crawling your site and gets your clinic out there faster.

To unpublish blocks, pages, and menu items, follow these steps:

  1. To unpublish blocks, click the Edit Block icon, click the Settings cogwheel, and toggle off Published.
  2. To unpublish pages, click Admin > Content > Pages. Hover over the page you want to unpublish and click Edit Page. Scroll to the bottom of the page, toggle off Published, and click Save Page.
  3. To hide menu items, go to Admin > Menus, click the circle with the three dots , click Edit, change the Visible to dropdown to Admin Only, and click Save Link.

Finalize Basic SEO and Image Accessibility

Getting the small details right helps Google understand your site and makes it accessible to all patients. This is important before launch because accessible sites rank better and create a better experience for all patients.

Set Up Redirects if You're Migrating Your Website

If you’re switching from an old website, redirects help carry over SEO value and avoid broken links. Redirects maintain traffic from search engines and bookmarks, protecting your SEO rankings.

Launch Your Website and Connect Your Domain

Once your site is prepped, it’s time to go live. Your site needs to be published before Google can start indexing it. The longer you wait, the longer it takes for search visibility to grow.
