Best Practices for Your Jane Integration Settings

Learn how to configure and optimize your Jane Integration settings in your Clinic Sites website.

Clinic Sites integrates with your Jane account to sync over publicly available clinic information like disciplines, staff bios, and visual branding. Managing your Jane Integration settings helps keep your site up to date, without overwriting intentional customizations. 

This guide walks you through each Jane integration option and offers best practices for when to leave syncing on or turn it off.

Before you start

You'll want to make sure you have Admin access to make these Jane Integration changes. 


How to Manage Your Jane Integration Settings

Follow the steps below to access your Jane Integration Settings: 

  1. Click on Admin in the top right-hand corner of your website and then click on Settings in the dropdown. 
  2. Click Jane Integration in the left-hand menu. 
  3. Make your changes by toggling your integration settings on and off.
  4. Once you're happy with your changes, click the Save Settings button. 



General 

Open Jane Booking Link in New Tab
With Open Jane Booking Link in New Tab, you can choose whether your Book Now button opens in a new tab or the same window. Opening in a new tab keeps visitors on your site while giving them access to the Jane booking flow.

We recommend toggling this on to enhance user experience (especially on mobile devices) so patients don’t lose their spot on your website.

Synchronize Theme 
This option syncs your site name, logo, and theme colours from Jane. Brand consistency is important, but if you’ve made specific design changes on your website that you don’t want overwritten, it’s best to turn this setting off.

If your Jane colours and logo are up to date in Jane, we recommend leaving this on for automatic branding. Otherwise, disable theme syncing and customize your colours directly in the Design section of Clinic Sites.

Synchronize Email and Phone Number  
This sync brings over your public-facing contact email and phone number from Jane. 

If you regularly update your contact info in Jane, leave this setting on. If you’ve customized contact info directly on Clinic Sites (e.g., a front-desk specific email), consider turning this off.

Automatically Synchronize Jane Changes 
This setting allows your Clinic Sites website to automatically sync with Jane once every 24 hours. This makes sure your content stays current, which is especially helpful for keeping bios, services, and contact info accurate.

Leave this on for ease, but if you’re making major edits in Jane, consider disabling it temporarily so you can control what shows live.

Disciplines  

Synchronize Disciplines Names
This setting pulls the discipline names (e.g., Physiotherapy, Psychology) directly from your Jane account and displays them on your website.

Turn this on if you want your services grouped in a Smart Menu and labeled by discipline. Leave it off if you prefer to create your own labels or categories manually.

Display All Disciplines
This option shows disciplines even if they aren't currently available for online booking in Jane.

Synchronize Treatment Breakdown
This allows you to show the full list of bookable treatments under each discipline, enabling the Book by Treatment option on your Services page.

Turn this on if your treatments vary significantly within a discipline and you want patients to see specific options (e.g., Initial Consult vs. Follow-Up). If you offer one general service per discipline, this can be left off to simplify your offerings.


Locations 

Synchronize Locations
Syncing your location pulls your clinic address from Jane to display on your website.

Leave syncing on if your clinic has a public address. Disable it if your location is confidential or if you require appointments to be booked over the phone or email.


Staff

Synchronize Staff Profile Updates
This setting pulls in your staff's names, bios, and profile photos from Jane.

If you want staff photos on your website to be different than what's been uploaded in your Jane account, turn syncing off. New staff will still be added automatically either way.
